Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor will allow Italy to benefit from the electricity transmitted to the European market

Jan 16, 2026

The Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor, which will be commissioned in stages from 2032, will allow Italy to benefit from the electricity transmitted to the European market.

According to the Ministry of Energy, Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated this during his speech at the 6th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Italy held in Baku.

It was further reported that Italy’s CESI SpA is the consulting partner for preparing the feasibility studies of the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe and Central Asia-Azerbaijan green energy corridor projects.

According to local media reports, the minister noted that, Italian companies are actively participating in renewable energy projects being implemented in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan: "For example, Ansaldo Energia is actively involved in the construction of substations and the restoration of energy infrastructure in the liberated territories. We believe that Azerbaijan's transition to green energy will take our cooperation with Italy to a new level. We will be not only a supplier of traditional energy resources, but also an important partner in the development of the green energy of the future."
